Week 4 Activity 3

Halloween across the world is celebrated in various ways. Some people celebrate by trick or treating, some throw large parties, and some don’t celebrate at all. Personally, I celebrate by either throwing or attending a party with my friends. I enjoy how even before Halloween begins I can already begin celebrating by helping set up the party and decorating the house and by thinking of creative costume ideas with my friends. When October 31st finally rolls around the corner, I meet up at my friends house and we wait for the rest of our friends. When we all meet up, we get dressed in our costume and drive all together to the party we are attending. Overall, I deeply enjoy Halloween and think it is a wonderful holiday.

I have multiple memories of me and my family spending loving time together. Out of all of them, the one I most adore and vividly remember is when my parents and I went strawberry picking. The summer of 4th grade my mother, father, and I decided to spend time all together at a strawberry field. It was very interesting and fun to observe how the large variety of strawberries grew in their natural habitat. Shortly after harvesting the berries, my mother and I baked strawberry pastries from the strawberries we harvested and we all had a great time together.

Week 3 Activity 2

On September 4, 2014, a beloved actress, comedian, writer, producer, and television host known as Joan Rivers unfortunately passed away. Rivers was a beautiful and hilarious woman who would brighten up any situation. She always found a way to bring humor to any given moment and could make anybody laugh. Sadly, the joyous woman passed away from cardiac arrest at the age of eighty one, yet luckily her fans and other people may still remember her and admire her spirit through shows and movies she starred in.

Week 3 Activity 3

For this activity, I interviewed my mother to learn more about my grandma named Sveta Bodrova. My grandma was born on ______ and is currently _______ years old. She is now retired but worked as a Russian language teacher in Russia. She still lives there and currently helps tend to my uncle and his wife’s daughter and son. She grew up in the small town of Pushchino with her mother, father, and two sisters. She has many hobbies including baking, sowing, skiing, and horseback riding. I remember seeing my grandmother several times in mu past but I do not get to see her often as she lives very far away. Overall, my grandma is a very fascinating woman who I hope to meet again in the future. Here is a picture of where she currently lives, St. Petersburg.

Week 3 Activity 4

The widget I chose to use was Countdown Clocks by mycountdown. I find this widget to be very interesting as it will show you the exact time until a certain date or certain event. I chose my widget to display the time until Christmas because I am very excited for this holiday as it is my favorite one of the year.

Week 3 Activity 5

This week I have learned a lot about using images when posting. i learned not to carelessly use images and insert them when posting something. In the past I would simply post any picture that would fit my needs even if it is copyrighted and I never gave attribution to the proper owner. Now I know that it is important to make sure I don’t use copyrighted pictures and to give proper attribution to the owner of a photo.

Week 4 Activity 1

For my blog I decorated it by altering mt header to a picture of pumpkins. I like how the pumpkins resemble both Halloween and fall so I can have it last on my blog for a while. I found the header picture on https://pixabay.com/ and there is a large variety of images there, so others can find header ideas there as well.
